With more suspects then a few, I kept second guessing myself on the killer’s identity. Chapter after chapter this story was filled with enough twists and turns to capsize a ship. Unfortunately I am not going to read the book, so I can't give it an accurate overall review (take the 2 star rating with a grain of salt), but I wanted to warn others about the very disturbing, terrifying opening scenes of this book. This is a very dark, scary book, appropriate for teenagers perhaps but NOT anyone younger. I agree with many of the reviews on this site and use it often, but I think they COMPLETELY missed the mark on this one. In hindsight, I should have previewed the book and not given it to her, but as I said, Common Sense Media rated it age 9+- so when she grabbed it from me at the library I let her run off with it. I had a hard time looking at the images - so you can imagine how my 10.5 year old felt. The second page features scenes of: a little girl lying in a bed with her throat slit an adult woman laying in bed with her throat slit, and a man laying face down on the floor, dead, with a knife wound in his back. I like Neil Gaiman, and thought I'd introduce my daughter to some of his work ( I realize this is an adaptation of his work - my daughter loves graphic novels.). Craig Russell and illustrated by an extraordinary team of renowned artists. I picked this up at the library for my 10.5 year old, based on the positive, age 9+ reviews from common sense media. The second volume of a glorious two-volume, four-color graphic novel adaptation of Neil Gaimans 1 New York Times bestselling and Newbery and Carnegie Medal-winning novel The Graveyard Book, adapted by P. She is so use to being used, abused, and rejected by everyone. This is one of my favorite series! I’ve reread this so many times waiting for the final book to be released (June 7th 2023 BTW!) what can I say? Eva brings her characters to life in the best way possible! Willow is such an amazing FMC. Twisted Game is a full-length new-adult romance with dark themes, damaged anti-heroes, and high heat. I’m a loose thread to them-but somehow, I’m becoming more than that, too.Īnd no matter how much I try to deny the terrifying attraction that pulses between us, I know if I don’t find a way out of this tangled web soon. These three dangerous brothers will do anything to make sure I keep my mouth shut about what I saw, even if it means stalking my every movement. They don’t…but they don’t forget about me, either. When they drag me from the blood-soaked bed, I’m certain they’re going to kill me, too. On the night I’m meant to give my body to a brutal Russian mobster, three men storm into the room like dark shadows and kill him before he can claim me. So when I end up desperate for money and out of options, I agree to sell the one thing I have left: my innocence. My parents are dead, my adoptive mother is a drug addict, and the mean girls on campus mock me for my scars. fast pacing, tight plotting, international intrigue.''The Plain Dealer BONUS: This edition includes an excerpt from Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity. "This looks more like the _Monitor_ or the _Merrimac_ from the Civil War," he said. "We don't build submarines that look like that." He admitted that our test results were "interesting" but added, "Your design would probably cost us two or three knots in speed." I countered, "But why care about losing three knots, when you are invisible to your enemy?" He frowned at my drawing and backhanded my concept. > That submarine captain epitomized the hidebound Navy at its worst. Here's a telling excerpt from the submarine adventure: First, one with a proposal for a design of a stealth submarine, and then second, another example of an actual prototype of a stealth ship that underwent a year of testing (in which it performed admirably) before being rejected. In Ben Rich's book, he gives a couple of examples. Relationship Building Questions for Couples. Here you will find questions in all these categories!
